Farm Bill Passes

On May 22, one day after the House, the Senate voted overwhelmingly to override the President's veto of the Farm Bill, officially making HR 2419 public law.  This Farm Bill represents a significant victory for the more than 35 million Americans facing food insecurity today.  Congress has taken an important step forward by showing that there is political willpower to fight hunger in America, and so we encourage you to thank the Members of Congress who voted in favor of the override by using the legislator contact system in the Hunger Action Center.  If your Member of Congress opposed the override, you can send a letterat www.hungeractioncenter.org explaining why the Farm Bil is important to you and encouraging them to support federal nutrition programs in the future.
