Broccoli and Apple Slices.

Apple slices. Chicken fingers. Broccoli crowns. Peanut butter on a celery stick.

This is the lunch being served at one of Second Harvest Food Bank’s summer meals sites today—thanks to you.

This past July, our food drive team set out across our 18 county service area to collect food and funds to support our network’s summer meal efforts. With the help of our supporters at WXII 12, they set up in key communities served by our food bank, including Wilkesboro, Yadkinville, Kernersville,Winston-Salem and Asheboro—and the generosity of those communities became apparent.

Together, we raised over 121 thousand meals for families in need this summer.

Summer is not over. Second Harvest continues to work to stock the shelves of our on the on the ground partner network, operate our daily summer meals sites, and distribute food to the families across Northwest North Carolina who need it the most.

This vast and important work can only be done because of the support of our volunteers, our donors and our strong partner network.

Thank you for #feedingcommunity with us!

Summer isn’t over yet!

At Second Harvest, we are committed to feeding kids everyday, all summer. If you didn’t give to our match campaign, it is not too late. You can still contribute to our programming by giving today!
